Why People Love Living in Longmoor

1. Nelson Park is the summer hotspot

Nelson Pool is a beach-entry leisure pool with a climbing wall and splash pad, and the park next door has a skate park and BMX track. For kids, it's summer sorted.

2. A little bit of Ireland

Look at a map and you'll see Dublin Crescent, Galway Drive and Limerick Road. The Irish street names give Longmoor a character all its own.

3. Real lots at a better price

Split-levels and bungalows on treed lots with room for a pool are the Longmoor signature, and they often cost less than similar homes closer to the lake.

4. Local favourites

Neighbourhood staples like Marilu's Market, a long-time local grocer with a bakery and butcher, give the area a small-town feel. The lake and Shoreacres parks are a short bike ride south.

Homes in Longmoor: What Your Money Buys

  • Back-splits and side-splits: lots of living space over multiple levels, often with a walk-up or separate lower level.
  • Raised ranches and bungalows: popular with downsizers and with buyers who want renovation potential.
  • Townhomes and condos: an entry point into south Burlington's schools and parks.
Coredell's Tip: Split-level homes are great value, but layouts vary a lot. Some open up beautifully with a few walls removed, and others fight you every step of the way. I bring a renovation eye to every showing and can connect you with contractors for quick estimates before you firm up.

Schools in and Around Longmoor

Schools serving the area include Pauline Johnson, John T. Tuck and Pineland public schools, St. Raphael Catholic Elementary, and Nelson High School and Assumption Catholic Secondary.

School boundaries change, and some schools cap enrolment. Always confirm the school for a specific address with the Halton District School Board or Halton Catholic District School Board before you firm up an offer — it's one of the first things I check for my buyers.

What to Know Before You Buy

  • Update history matters. Many homes are decades old, so ask about the roof, windows, electrical, furnace and A/C.
  • Check any pool carefully. Look at the liner, equipment, fencing and permits, and include it in your inspection.
  • Busy roads vs. crescents. Homes on through-streets trade differently from those on quiet crescents.
