Picture a Sunday morning tee time a short walk from your front door, kids biking to the park, and a quiet crescent where neighbours actually know each other. That's the Millcroft pitch, and after more than 35 years it's still one of Burlington's most in-demand family neighbourhoods.

Why People Love Living in Millcroft

1. A community built around a golf course

Millcroft launched in 1986 together with the Millcroft Golf Club, an 18-hole, semi-private course that winds through the neighbourhood. Even if you never pick up a club, the open green space, mature trees and fairway views give the area a calm, park-like feel.

2. Built for families

Millcroft covers about 650 acres and was planned with families in mind: parks such as Berton, Taywood and Berwick Green, walkable crescents, and schools within the community. It's the kind of place people buy in and stay for a decade or more.

3. Solid, spacious homes

Well-known builders shaped the neighbourhood, and many homes offer open-concept main floors, double garages, bigger yards and generous setbacks from the street. It's classic North Burlington family housing.

4. Convenient without being busy

The QEW and the 407 are both close, Appleby GO is a quick drive for Toronto commuters, and the shopping on Appleby Line covers weekly errands.

Homes in Millcroft: What Your Money Buys

  • Detached family homes: the core of Millcroft. Size, layout, updates and lot are what separate the prices.
  • Golf course lots: backing onto the fairways usually means a premium, plus privacy and views. Ask about stray-ball risk and fencing rules.
  • Townhomes and attached homes: a more accessible way into Millcroft's schools and parks.
Coredell's Tip: Many Millcroft homes are 25–35 years old, which is when big-ticket items come due: roof, furnace and A/C, windows, and sometimes the original kitchen. Two homes that look alike online can be $50K+ apart once you count what's been updated. I compare the upgrade history on every home we look at, so you're comparing apples to apples.

Schools in and Around Millcroft

Schools serving the area include Charles R. Beaudoin and Florence Meares public elementary schools and Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Elementary, with several secondary options in North Burlington.

School boundaries change, and some schools cap enrolment. Always confirm the school for a specific address with the Halton District School Board or Halton Catholic District School Board before you firm up an offer — it's one of the first things I check for my buyers.

What to Know Before You Buy

  • Check the age of major systems. Ask sellers for receipts for the roof, furnace, A/C and windows.
  • Golf course lots trade differently. Views and privacy add value, but look at orientation, stray-ball exposure and easements.
  • Know about Millcroft Greens. The Ontario Land Tribunal approved a plan (final decision in 2025) to build about 90 detached homes on parts of the golf course lands, plus a 6-storey apartment building on Dundas Street, while keeping the course. If you're looking at a home near the course, check exactly which parcels border it. The City posts updates at burlington.ca/millcroftupdates.
  • Busy roads vs. quiet crescents. Homes on Upper Middle, Walkers or Appleby Line usually sell for less than homes on interior crescents, which makes them a potential value play if you can live with the traffic.
